Zelensky Arrives At Border With Belarus

On Wednesday, April 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made a working trip to the Volhynia region and visited the border section where the borders of Ukraine, Poland and Belarus converge.

The President of Ukraine also examined the observation point and the two-level system of ditches on the border. From the position of the observation post, it was demonstrated how, with the help of remote video surveillance systems, round-the-clock surveillance of the border is carried out. He was also shown the systems for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles.

As the border guards told Zelensky, in order to ensure reliable protection of the Ukrainian border and readiness to repel a possible enemy invasion from the territory of Belarus, engineering barriers, fortifications are being built up and remote video surveillance systems are being installed.

The President of Ukraine talked to the servicemen of the State Border Service, and presented them with awards.

“It’s a great honor for me to be here today, to congratulate you, to thank you for defending the state border. I would like to talk about the border, being here, in Volhynia, near the border of Ukraine with Belarus and Poland. You are heroic and strong people. I want to thank you for protecting our state in Bakhmut. I know how firmly you stood there, holding Bakhmut,” Zelensky said.
