‘How Can We Trust Authorities?’: Residents Of Bryansk Region’s Border Villages Riot In Russia

The villagers are unhappy with the war.

Residents of the Bryansk villages of Zapesochye, Vitemlya and Yevdokolye, bordering Ukraine, are dissatisfied with the war, and demand protection from Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

The women recorded an angry video message to the authorities, which was distributed by local and opposition publics. State media ignored it though, Dialog.UA reports.

Residents are dissatisfied with the fact that they get blown up by mines, but both journalists and the authorities are silent about this.

“We have a dead guy, we have two wounded border guards. This is not announced anywhere. We are tired of lies! How can we trust our authorities when we are being deceived? We don't know the truth… Now the holidays are coming. People cannot come to the cemetery to simply clean up and put flowers on their relatives’ graves. We have been prohibited to do so, because everything is mined. We don’t know how to live on,” the women say.

It is important that the authorities of the Russian Federation did not care about the security of their border settlements, which ended up in the combat zone. There is no evacuation of the population, there are no bomb shelters, or even sound alarms.

“We want to live in safety, raise children,” the Russians say.

It is significant that they are outraged not only because of the war. Residents complained to the authorities about the lack of roads and the Internet, which is why children do not receive school education.

“Our children have not been going to school for the third year, they say it’s distant education, but there is no Internet! Our children are not getting the education they should. They won’t enter any educational establishment… We have roads that are impossible to just drive through… As long as a heavy person is taken by ambulance, they will simply die on this road. They (doctors — edit.) do not even want to go to us: we have no roads! It's just kind of hell. We are humans! We are alive!” residents of border villages complain.

The authorities of the Russian Federation did not react to the appeal in any way.
