Later, the head of the region said that two people were injured as a result of an “abnormal drop of ammunition”. One woman with a craniocerebral injury of moderate severity was taken to the City Hospital No 2. The second woman with bruises refused hospitalization, all the necessary medical care was provided to her on the spot.
Mayor of Belgorod Valentin Demidov published photos of damaged apartments on his Telegram channel.
“All the field services are on duty. <...> Also the explosion damaged several apartments on Shalandina Street. The Clearing House is operating. We offer temporary accommodation in a hotel to all residents of the affected houses,” the mayor said.
The author of the Moscow Calling Telegram channel suggests that judging by the gigantic size of the crater and the car thrown onto the roof of the store, a Russian FAB-1500 bomb fell off the mount of an aircraft flying to bomb Ukraine.
