The current leadership of the Russian Federation will not be allowed to make decisions.
If the Ukrainian counteroffensive is successful, then, regardless of whether the Armed Forces of Ukraine enter the Crimea or not, the war will be over. The parties will sit down at the negotiating table.
This opinion was expressed by Russian crisis expert Anatoly Nesmiyan (El Murid) in his blog.
The success of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces counter-offensive will open up an opportunity for negotiations, and they will not be on the Kremlin's terms. Moreover, the current leadership of the Russian Federation, most likely, will not even be allowed to make decisions.
“It is at this moment that Beijing wants to appear ... Someone will have to represent the Kremlin at this table and give guarantees that it will comply with the terms of the peace treaty. Most likely, the Kremlin people will not be allowed to the talks — they will be present there in a secondary capacity, like “representatives of the L/DPR” at both Minsk agreements,” the Russian expert expressed his opinion.
If the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is unsuccessful, then, Murid believes, the slow-moving war of attrition will continue until it reaches a new crisis point.
It will finally become clear in a month or a month and a half what scenario we will be having, the blogger of the Russian Federation believes.
It should be noted that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was announced in the coming weeks by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. He assured that the United States would provide the Ukrainians with all the necessary support for the operation to be successful.
Experts believe that the breakthrough of the front will be on the Zaporizhzhia line with the cutting of the land corridor to the Crimea. The next step may be the de-occupation of the peninsula.
