Russians Weld Ancient Anti-Aircraft Gun On Tank Of 1945

The occupiers have sent another "frankenstein" to the front.

The Russian occupiers have distinguished themselves by creating yet another ridiculous armoured monster designed to alleviate the problem of a shortage of modern armaments. Thus, a T-54 tank with a 57 mm C-60 anti-aircraft gun mounted on it was spotted at the front.

A photo of this ridiculous creation was published by military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko. In the photo it can be seen that the turret of the T-54 tank (which was in production from 1945 to 1974) was removed and a platform with a C-60 anti-aircraft gun (produced in 1950-57) was mounted in its place.

To be fair, it should be noted that in the 1950s the USSR did produce a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun based on the T-54 with the same 57-mm anti-aircraft guns - ZSU-57-2. But it used a twin (double-barreled) gun, additionally protected by a semi-open armoured turret. However, the presented photo shows an evident self-made machine with a single gun and without armour shield.

Previously it has been observed on the front line many times that Russians have tried to make tank "frankensteins" out of obviously incompatible weapons to compensate somehow for the lack of normal equipment. For example, Russians built up navy cannons on Soviet '69 tractor trucks.

And before that everyone was amused by the lightly armoured MTLB armoured personnel carrier, on which a huge turret with a ship's anti-aircraft gun was installed.
