Latvian Border Guards: Belarus Offered Firearms To Illegal Migrants

Illegal migrants refused to use it.

Latvian border guards report cases when the Belarusian services offered firearms to illegal migrants, the LSM newspaper writes, citing an interview with the head of the State Border Service of the country, Guntis Pujāts, with LETA.

Guntis Pujāts claims that the Belarusian side also instructed the migrants on how to resist the Latvian border guards if they did not allow them to cross the border.

But the migrants refused to use weapons, and so far there have been no incidents involving the use of firearms against Latvian border guards.
