Political Scientist: Putin Are To Be Deprived Of Army And Navy If He Starts Moving Nuclear Weapons To Belarus
ANATOL KOTAU

Such a "red line" will stop the head of the Kremlin.

Lukashenka, in an interview with Russian propagandist Olga Skabeeva, admitted that he would not be able to independently use tactical nuclear weapons, which Russia plans to deploy in Belarus. As the dictator stated on June 13, he will need to coordinate this issue with Russian President Putin in advance.

In the first half of the same day, Lukashenka announced that he would allegedly control nuclear weapons. On March 31, he also announced “his” control.

Why did Lukashenka "flip" this way? The Charter97.org website talked about this with political scientist Anatol Kotau.

– This is Lukashenka’s traditional move. He delivers different messages to different audiences. He wants to look like a brutal macho in front of his propagandists, and in front of a speaker who will broadcast his words to the Russian audience, including his patron Putin, he is forced to announce a version close to reality.

As a matter of fact, Lukashenka will not call Putin, but he will be notified that something will be launched somewhere. It’s clear, he will not decide whether they will use nuclear weapons or not, since they do not belong to Lukashenka.

– Are there any levers of influence to prevent the scenario of the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus?

– The situation depends on the degree of Lukashenka’s personal independence. If we assume that he is still independent to some extent, then the leverage of pressure can be applied to him, for example, the tools provided by the International Labor Organization. This is a set of tough sanctions, up to a complete trade embargo for Belarus, in order to prevent the transfer of nuclear weapons to the territory of our country. All neighbouring countries will have to put forward such an ultimatum: as soon as they start moving it, prepare for the fact that all your foreign trade will be finished. These are options if Lukashenka still somehow influences what is happening in Belarus. But we see that his influence is decreasing.

If he is completely dependent, then it makes sense to use leverage against Putin. Putin understands only force.

As I’ve got it, Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin - Ed.] was warned that if nuclear weapons were used, he would lose his army and navy without a retaliatory nuclear strike. In fact, it is necessary to draw such a “red line” for him right now: if you start moving nuclear weapons to Belarus, you will also lose the army and navy.
