(updated) Explosions occurred in several places at the same time.

Near Moscow (RF), on Wednesday morning, 21 June, an explosion occurred in the sky over the Lukino settlement near New Moscow. The cause of the incident is said to be an unidentified drone.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Mash Telegram channel.

According to locals, there was an explosion in the sky above the village near Moscow.

"According to our information, it was a drone that fell nearby - near the Pakhra river," the publication said.

It also reports that the incident caused no casualties.

"Locals heard a loud noise around 5am. Now police are working at the site of the falling debris," the channel writes.

Another publication says that before the fall, residents of Lukino, near Moscow, "heard a loud explosion".

"Emergency services are now working at the site, police have cordoned off the area," the Shot Telegram channel said.

The network also published a photo showing a column of smoke in the field.

RosSMI also reported that other drones had allegedly crashed near the village of Kalininets in the Naro-Fominsk district of the Moscow Region, not far from a military unit. However, the wreckage of the first one was found about 20 km away.

It later emerged that the drones had attacked the area of the 15th motorised rifle regiment of the Taman division (B/P 23623) in the Kalininets settlement near Moscow. This was reported by the Russian newspaper Izvestia.

Drone attacks on Moscow and region

In late spring, drones were reported in Moscow and the Moscow region, particularly in the elite Rublevka area.

On the morning of 30 May, for example, drones hit the houses, and RosSMI wrote at the time that 32 UAVs were involved in the attack, 3 of which hit the residential buildings. But the Russian Ministry of Defence, for some reason, reported only eight drones.

Drones spotted over Kremlin

Earlier, on the night of 3 May, explosions were heard in central Moscow. The Russian authorities later claimed a drone attack on the Kremlin and traditionally blamed Ukraine.

At the time, the Russian Federation claimed that air defence systems had allegedly shot down the drones, but footage posted online showed one of the drones exploding over the Kremlin tower.
