Armed Forces Of Ukraine Go On Offensive, Gain Important Foothold Near Vuhledar

Opportunities have opened up for “cutting off” the Russian group in Mariupol.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to recapture several positions of the Russians, and advance under Vuhledar.

Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve, military expert and instructor pilot Roman Svitan told about this to Channel 24.

DeepState analysts showed the advancement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Vuhledar on the updated map on May 2. So far, the General Staff has not officially commented on this information.

“Even by just looking at the map, one cannot but realize the importance of such a move in this direction. After all, it happened in the direction of Volnovakha, along which the Donetsk-Mariupol highway passes.

These are local movements of our troops to improve defensive positions. We occupied another dominant height above this area and improved our defensive position,” explained Roman Svitan.

However, this can also be an expansion of the springboard for the offensive towards Volnovakha, which can happen. However, the military expert notes that it was in the direction of Volnovakha, not exactly the place itself. Allegedly, there are at least 3 - 4 directions for a possible offensive.

Among these directions, he names possible advances towards Volnovakha itself, to the west towards Urzuf or Donetsk Yalta near Mariupol itself.

“It is also possible to move towards Yelenivka, and then go along the highway from Donetsk to Novoazovsk and Sedove. In general, this is an exit to the east of Mariupol and cutting off the entire Russian grouping,” said the colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve.
