Bakhmut In Operational Encirclement: AFU Controlling All Exits From Town

The military expert named two positive moments in the Donetsk direction.

Ukrainian defence forces continue offensive actions and progress in the Bakhmut direction. Having occupied a number of dominant heights, Ukrainian artillery can reach the entrances and exits of the fortress town.

This was stated to "Channel 24" by military expert, colonel of the AFU in reserve, flight instructor Roman Svitan. According to him, it is necessary to hold the entire region in order to tie up the reserves of the Russians and destroy them.

Svitan noted that now the AFU is occupying the heights in Bakhmut, and the lowlands are being operationally encircled. We are talking about the Kleshcheyivka and Berkhivka region.

"Yes, and after we enter the heights, Bakhmut itself gets into an operational encirclement, as artillery reaches the entrances and exits of Bakhmut," said the reserve colonel.

In his opinion, the best option for the AFU there is to occupy all the heights and hold them in active defence mode. "That is, to hold this entire region in order to tie up the Russians' reserves and destroy them, just like in the Lugansk direction," Svitan said.

The military expert also noted that there are 2 positive aspects on the Donetsk direction - it is the possibility of entering the heights in Horlivka and Donetsk.
