Hieromonk from Homel Aliaksandr Tarasenka has been sentenced to two years in a penal colony.
Aliaksandr Tarasenka is a former Orthodox hieromonk of the Homel St Nicholas Monastery, a well-known figure in the Orthodox community in Homel.
Aliaksandr Tarasenka was detained on March 23, 2023 and was sentenced to administrative arrest for 14 days. After the arrest, he didn't come out, but was placed in custody on charges of insulting Lukashenka (part 1 of Article 368) of the Criminal Code of Belarus, writes Christian Vizia.
