The Armed Forces of Ukraine started moving in three directions at the same time.
Military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military pilot-instructor Roman Svitan noted that an irreversible process began near Bakhmut, because the entry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the dominant heights makes it possible to control Bakhmut, the entrances and exits to the city.
He spoke about this on the air on Espreso.
“The Russians understand that after we reached the dominant heights, we began to control the entrance and exit to Bakhmut, including Klishchiivka. The dominant height, which we took, controls Bakhmut to the north, and Klishchiivka to the south. That is, we took control of two settlements. Control in military slang is not that we stand in the city at every crossroads, but that we can destroy any target with artillery at a distance of 25-30 km. Accordingly, along this radius, we control the entrances and exits to the city, as well as Bakhmut himself. The enemy is aware that it is in this mode that we begin to terrorize them there, so they are trying to knock us out of these heights,” said the AFU reserve colonel.
Roman Svitan noted that an irreversible process has already begun, because the AFU’s reaching heights makes it difficult for the enemy to approach them.
“I would say that now there is really a Ukrainian accent in the Bakhmut area. We begin to move in three directions at the same time: from Bakhmut to the north to the Berkhivka area and further, in the south — towards Horlivka to Kurdyumivka, we also hold the height in Klishchiivka with the aim of moving east towards Popasna. Such an interesting trident. Holding our troops on the heights, respectively, makes it possible to control Bakhmut. We will destroy enemy military facilities as they enter the city. It is difficult for Russians to move under the control of our artillery,” Svitan explained.
