The political prisoner has only one kidney.

The term during which political prisoner Aliaksandr Frantskevich should stay in the punishment cell was again extended. This time until August 5th. This became known to human rights activists.

Frantskevich has been in the punishment cell in the penal colony #5 in Ivatsevichy since March 28. He was placed there immediately after the “quarantine” and then the terms of his stay in the punitive confinement were constantly extended.

Human rights activists remind that Aliaksandr is missing one kidney. Such a long stay in the punitive confinement can have a bad effect on his health.

Activist of the anarchist movement Aliaksandr Frantskevich was detained in August 2020. The verdict was announced in September 2022.

Aliaksandr was charged under a number of articles, including “organization of mass riots”, “calls for sanctions”, “creation of an extremist formation” and “criminal organization”. He was sentenced to 17 years in prison.

Then the Supreme Court, on appeal, slightly reduced the prison terms for the three defendants in this case. As a result, the final term of Aliaksandr’s imprisonment became 16 years and 9 months in a reinforced-security colony.
