Russian Helicopters, Planes Destroyed In Bryansk Region By Patriot Missile Defense System

New details of the "black day" of Russian aviation have become known.

The AFU air force showed a video showing enemy targets destroyed by Patriot SAMs. The date below the three Russian helicopters is May 13, the day when Russian aviation was "falling down" in Bryansk Region, New Voice points out.

In a video published on the Day of Anti-Aircraft Missile Forces, July 3, soldiers talk about the successful defense of the sky over Ukraine against Russian missiles and drones by S-300, Buk-M1, NASAMAS, IRIS-T air defense systems.

The list of targets shot down by the Patriot surface-to-air missile system is stamped with 13.05.2023, with three helicopters and one unmanned aerial vehicle above this inscription. There are also two more aircraft alongside, but it is difficult to see the date underneath.

On May 13, two Russian military Mi-8 helicopters and Su-34 and Su-35 fighter jets crashed almost simultaneously in Russia's Bryansk Region, both crews were killed. Russian state media wrote about it and eyewitnesses posted videos on social media, but Russian authorities did not officially comment on the incidents or the number of aircraft lost.

The next day, Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the AFU Air Force, said that there could be three helicopters down already, and that this strike group of helicopters and Russian aircraft was then flying to carry out another attack with guided air bombs on Ukrainian settlements in the north. He said that the Russian air defence was involved in the "plane crash".
