'Kalibrs First Headed To Kyiv, But Then Suddenly Turned'

It has become known how and from where Russia attacked Lviv.

Russian war criminals resorted to tricks during the massive air attack on Ukraine during the night of July 6. Their Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea, some of which hit Lviv, initially were flying towards Kyiv.

Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force of the AFU, said this on the air of the TV marathon. We remind that Ukrainian air defence forces managed to shoot down seven out of ten enemy missiles targeting Lviv region.

In a report on the repulsion of the attack, the military informed that it took place around 01:00 on Thursday. Several groups of missiles were detected, first heading north, using the terrain and the Dnieper riverbed, and then sharply changing course to the west.

Ignat clarified that the northern direction refers to Kyiv. And the occupants always use riverbeds to advance as far as possible and to overcome the Ukrainian air defence system.

According to him, this time, when the missiles were heading north, there was a probability that it would be Kyiv that would be hit, but the enemy's Kalibrs turned sharply westwards and attacked Lviv.

"Some of them were destroyed by fighter jets, most of the missiles were destroyed in the west," he added.
