Tarpeda-BelAZ Footballers Sent To Gather Stones In Fields

After unsuccessful games in the Conference League and the championship of Belarus.

Tarpeda-BelAZ players together with members of the coaching and administrative staff of the club were gathering stones on the fields of agricultural production co-operative "Pershamaiski", the newspaper "Minskaya Prauda" reports.

The farm, where the athletes worked, is a branch of the Belarusian automobile plant.

"The Tarpeda players decided to make a modest contribution to the food security of the country, and at the same time learnt how hard the labour of the workers of the enterprise, which is the main sponsor of the football club, is," explained "Minskaya Prauda".

The newspaper noted that it was not easy to carry stones in such heat, "sometimes they were quite heavy".

"But the football players are trained people, they endured everything. In the end they got four trailers of stones. Hopefully, the labour therapy will help the team to break the winless streak in official matches, which, frankly speaking, has dragged on for too long," stressed "Minskaya Prauda".

The video of "field training" of the players was also published by a telegram channel, close to the State Department for Combating Organised Crime, where "penitential" videos of detained Belarusians regularly appear.

"After the unsuccessful games of "Tarpeda-BelAZ" in the Conference League and the national championship, the coaching staff found new motivation for the players on the collective farm field," the propaganda resource signed the video.

We remind that on August 2, "Tarpeda-BelAZ" dropped out of the Conference League after a draw with the Cypriot club AEK. The first match was lost 2:3.
