Large-Scale Fire, Burning Aircraft: Drone Attack On Pskov Airport Shown On Video

At least four Il-76s and one Tu-22 were destroyed.

On the night of August 30, a group of strike drones attacked the Kresty international airport in Pskov, which is located about 700 km from the border with Ukraine.

The attack and damage were confirmed by Russian publics, as a lot of videos appeared online both from Pskov itself and from the airport, reports dialog.ua.

It is known that the Kresty airport is in the jurisdiction of the Russian Ministry of Defense. It is there that the 76th Airborne Division of the Russian Federation is deployed, which is served by the 334th Air Transport Regiment.

Local residents counted about 10 “bangs” in the airfield area. It is reported that five military aircraft were destroyed or severely damaged at once, including four Il-76s and one Tu-22M3.

The opposition channel Gulagu.net reports that it was the Il-76 transport aircraft of the Russian Defense Ministry that were used to deliver prisoners who fought or are fighting in the Wagner and Shtorm-Z PMCs to Ukraine.

The exact number of victims, destruction and casualties is still unknown. However, it is reliably known that in 2023 this is the most powerful drone attack on Russian airfields.

In addition, Russian media reported that drones attacked Bryansk, Sevastopol and the Cherekhin military base, where the 104th Airborne Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces is stationed, which is known for war crimes in Bucha.

All flights from Kresty airport will be canceled today. In the city itself, the Edelweiss plan has been introduced. The airport area has been cordoned off, and law enforcement officers have been given weapons.

The remaining aircraft were urgently lifted into the air and transferred to other airfields.
