The Ukrainian army controls the western part of the most important junction on the Southern Front.
Ukrainian army units managed to break through the Russian defence line and gain a foothold on the outskirts of the settlement of Verbove, reports dialog.ua.
Moreover, the Ukrainian military managed to enter the territory of the village, having launched combat operations on its western outskirts.
The AFU's entry into the settlement was geolocated thanks to a video of the Russians, which shows fighting along the perimeter of the settlement.
The occupiers are already starting to confirm the beginning of serious problems in the village.
The BBC is also reporting successes for the AFU in Verbove. NASA's FIRMS service, which aggregates open satellite data on fires, records a fresh fire at the site of the village of Verbove, neighbouring Robotyne, recently taken by the Ukrainian army (this was pointed out by British OSINT blogger Kyle Glen).
There is one fresh (by the looks of it) "soldier" video from the Ukrainian side, which refers to the capture of Russian trenches in Verbove.
Multiple pro-war channels on the Russian side are talking about a powerful attack by the Ukrainian army. Verbove is one of the hubs of the Russian fortified line. Bild military observer Julian Röpke also came to the conclusion about the possible liberation of the village by the AFU.
The representative of the Ukrainian General Staff Andriy Kovalev said yesterday morning that the AFU "had success in the direction of Mala Tokmachka - Verbove and were entrenching themselves on the obtained borders", however, he said almost the same words yesterday.
In general, the situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction of the front has improved over the past week, as the main minefields in front of the defence line in this direction have already been passed.
Verbove is located to the east of Robotyne: Ukrainian army units have been consistently destroying Russian communications and the defence line for several weeks, breaking through minefields, before moving on to active assault actions.
Earlier, Charter97.org reported that the Ukrainian army had broken through the "Surovikin line" in the Zaporizhzhia direction near the village of Verbove.
