Media: Surface Drone Damaged Best Landing Ship Of Russia’s Northern Fleet

The details of the attack and the characteristics of the Olenegorsky Gornyak have become known.

In the bay of Novorossiysk, after the attack of drones, the large landing ship of the Russian Federation Olenegorsky Gornyak was damaged. According to media reports, the special operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Navy. A video of the attack on a Russian ship has also been released.

The footage shows how a surface drone stuffed with 450 kilograms of TNT attacks an enemy ship.

According to Glavred's sources in the Security Service of Ukraine, the special operation was carried out by the SSU together with the Navy. As a result of the attack, the Olenegorsky Gornyak received a serious hole and is now unable to perform her combat missions.

It is also noted that about 100 crew members are on board the Russian ship.

Olenegorsky Gornyak (SDK-91, BDK-91) is a Project 775 large landing ship. Based in the Northern Fleet, part of the 121st Landing Ship Brigade.

In 2007, she was named “the best landing ship of the Northern Fleet”.

The ship was built at the Stocznia Północna shipyard in Gdansk (Poland), serial number 775/5, entered the fleet on June 30, 1976. Until 1977, she had the name “SDK-91”, then — “BDK-91”. Since May 7, 2000, she has been named “Olenegorsky Gornyak” in connection with the establishment of patronage over the ship by the Olenegorsk mining and processing plant.
