The Belarusian was arrested on 1 August. He is 39 years old. He had previously lived in Russia, in Moscow and St Petersburg.
According to the Polish internal security service, the suspect came to Poland in 2021 and contacted the coordinator of the spy network. The Belarusian frequently changed his means of communication and destroyed traces of his activities. The court detained the suspect for three months.
Over the past 14 months, the Polish security services have arrested 22 spies from Belarus and Russia. On 20 March, the arrest of three Belarusians in Poland was announced. Mikalai Moskalenka and Uladzislau Posmitsiukh were detained for three months, while Maryia Myadzvedzeva was detained for one month.
