Aidar Battalion C.C.: Ukrainian Forces Broke Through First Russian Defence Line And Reached Second In Three Districts
YEVHEN DIKIY

The assault company commander spoke about the advance near Staromayorske, Orekhove and Rabotine.

There are many changes on the front in the last three weeks of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, although they are not clear from the map.

As the former assault company commander of the Aidar Battalion, Yevhen Dikiy, said in an interview with Novynarnia, the other day officials announced that 241 square kilometers were liberated in the first two months, and this led many people to the wrong conclusions.

“The first of the three Russian defence lines were almost completely destroyed. That's another story... and in fact, we have entered the second line in at least three districts - Staromayorske, Orekhove and Rabotine," he said.

At the same time, Dikiy noted that the second defence line can be considered the main one and it is different from the first one. He noted that the first one had strongholds mainly, but continuous minefields lie hundreds of kilometres, even more than during the Second World War.

There are fewer minefields on the second defence line, but there are solid fortifications, which are hundreds of kilometres of continuous trenches with concrete pillboxes among them.

“This is not even World War II, but a classic of World War I,” Dikiy said and added that the third defence line is more necessary to support the first two.

At the same time, he added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to destroy a huge number of Russians during these two months. Dikiy added that the Ukrainian forces also suffer losses, even though they are conducting the offensive. The losses in their ranks are two to three times less than the losses among the occupiers.

According to him, the fate of the counteroffensive will be decided on the second defence line, but overcoming it may take the same time as overcoming the first - that is, at least a month and a half.

As previously reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the invaders had set up a layered system of engineering barriers in the occupied territories. It consists of several lanes with a length of 10 to 40 km.
