‘COVID Situation In Minsk Is Getting Worse’

With the arrival of September, the number of Covid cases has sharply increased in Minsk in recent weeks.

An employee of one of the capital’s medical institutions reported this to the Charter97.org website on condition of anonymity:

— Now the situation is not critical, but the incidenсe is gaining momentum. There are free beds in hospitals, but they fill up quickly, he said.

According to the interlocutor, one of the reasons for the increase in incidence is new strains of coronavirus, which are more contagious and dangerous.

“We are encountering patients who have new strains identified. They cause more severe complications and can lead to death even in young and healthy people. Therefore, we strongly recommend that everyone complete the full course of vaccination and take precautions,” he emphasized.
