At least three large landing ships of the Russian Federation were in the docks for repair.
At least three large Russian amphibious assault ships were previously under repair at the 13th shipyard of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Sevastopol, where explosions occurred on the night of September 13. Two ships without board numbers near the entrance and inside the Kilen Bukhta, as well as the "Azov" ship (board number 151) near the edge, were among them, reports obozrevatel.com.
This was reported by the "Crimea.Realii" website as early as last year. It is about the ships of the 775 project, designed for landing marine troops and transferring forces and cargo by sea. Such ships are capable of transporting various types of armoured vehicles, including tanks. At the moment, it remains unknown whether the ships were on the territory of the plant at the time of the explosion.
The total number of large landing ships of this project in the bays of Sevastopol at that time was five units. Apart from "Azov", they also included: "Caesar Kunikov" (board number 158), "Novocherkassk" (142) and "Yamal" (156).
