USA Harshly Cut Lavrov Down To Size

The Russian foreign minister was openly accused of stupidity.

The US State Department harshly criticised the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about America's alleged "dictate" in the Indo-Pacific region.

This is reported by the Voice of America.

It should be noted that before that Lavrov said that Moscow will prevent "any attempts to establish the dictate" of the United States in the countries of the Indo-Pacific region.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller called his words "not the wisest," drawing parallels with Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"As far as Russia is concerned - a country that invades neighbouring (states - ed), wages a war of aggression, bombing schools, hospitals and apartment buildings on a daily basis - it should not be said that any other country is imposing its dictate on anyone . This, frankly speaking ... is not the wisest comment ever made by Sergey Lavrov," he said.

Miller added that the US and Bangladesh "share a vision ... of the Indo-Pacific region as free and open, prosperous, secure and sustainable."

In late July this year, it was reported that the US and Australia plan to strengthen cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and open a common intelligence centre.

Later it was reported that Japan, the US, Australia and the Philippines held a joint naval exercise in the South China Sea. The main purpose of the exercise was to strengthen cooperation among the four countries in order to ensure the realisation of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
