'One Precise Shot And Enemy Aircraft Disappears'

The GUR released new details about the operation on the "Boyko Towers".

Ukrainian intelligence has released some details about the special operation on the "Boyko Towers" in the Black Sea.

The commander of the scouts with the call sign Pain said that the operation had been worked on for about a month. He also told how it was possible to deceive the enemy's Black Sea Fleet and repel the attack of enemy aircraft.

In an interview with "1+1" during the national telethon, Pain gave some details of the special operation.

Kyiv's control over the "Boyko Towers" gives the opportunity to limit the enemy's actions in the area of Snake Island, as well as to block the grain corridor in the Black Sea.

The scouts deliberately chose rubber boats to be as inconspicuous as possible. The enemy planes only spotted the scouts when they began to dock at the tower. Fire from the aircraft damaged the boat, but did not sink it. The MANPADS operator managed to drive the enemy aircraft away from the towers with one accurate shot.

The tower was hit and the aircraft disappeared into the base. The radio equipment used by the enemy to monitor traffic in the Snake Island area was among the trophies.

The special operation of the GUR of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine gave an opportunity to push back the enemy as far as possible to the shores of the occupied Crimea.

"Boyko's Towers" are oil and gas production platforms in the Black Sea.

After the annexation of Crimea in February 2015, the occupying authorities nationalised them and then installed radar systems on them. On 11 September, the DPR announced that all four platforms had been returned to Ukrainian control.
