Russian Troops Start To Retreat Near Bakhmut

The new front line has been shown on maps.

The counter-offensive of the AFU along the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions continues. The AFU have liberated the settlement of Andriivka in Donetsk region.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Kovalev during the broadcast of the TV marathon.

As the speaker noted, the Defence Forces continue to conduct offensive actions south of the town of Bakhmut.

"We had partial success in the area of Klishchiivka. In the course of assault operations, we were successful and seized Andriivka in Donetsk region. We are inflicting significant losses to the enemy in manpower and machinery. Are entrenching ourselves on the achieved borders," said Kovalev.

Also, according to him, the Ukrainian defenders continue offensive operation in the area of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukrainian fighters continue to hold back the offensive of Russian troops in Avdiivka and Maryinka directions. Kovalev said that the Russians were conducting unsuccessful offensives in the area of Lastochkine and Avdiivka. During the day they tried about 10 times to push the AFU units out of the occupied positions, but unsuccessfully. Also, all enemy attacks in the area of Maryinka were repelled.

"The Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to hold back the offensive of Russian troops in the Bakhmut direction. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Bohdanivka. Over the past 24 hours there were 25 military clashes," the speaker added.

Liberation of Andriivka

In recent days, the Ukrainian command reported the advance of Ukrainian defenders on the southern flank of the Bakhmut direction. Yesterday, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar reported the liberation of Andriivka near Bakhmut, but the information turned out to be premature.

In the morning of September 15, the AFU General Staff confirmed the liberation of the settlement in Donetsk Region.
