Political Prisoner Ryhor Kastusyou Sent To Punishment Cell Fourth Time

The politician’s health severely deteriorated while he was in custody.

66-year-old Ryhor Kastusyou, who had been sentenced to 10 years in prison, was sent to the punishment cell for the fourth time, his relative Dzmitry Antonchyk wrote on Facebook.

Ryhor Kastusyou will be in the punishment cell for 10 days.

Since April 27, the politician had been in hospital where he was put for an examination. In custody, his health seriously deteriorated, the politician’s daughter Katsiaryna Kastusyova told the journalists that her father’s tests point to possible cancer.

Upon return to the colony, Ryhor Kastusyou was placed in a punishment cell thrice.

Chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front Ryhor Kastusyou was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in the case of “seizing power” in September 2022.
