Russian Missile Falls On Hotel In Cherkasy Centre

People are being pulled from under the rubble.

Russian forces attacked Cherkasy on the morning of 21 September. A Russian missile was shot down, but civilian infrastructure in the city centre was damaged. At least five people were injured and another was found under the rubble.

Mayor Anatoly Bondarenko said on Facebook. Emergency services are already on the scene.

"The downing of a Russian missile caused damage to civil infrastructure in the city centre, all services are working at the scene," he wrote.

The head of the Cherkasy OVA, Ihor Taburets, said that the debris of the enemy missile fell in the central part of the city and that the object of social infrastructure was damaged.

"So far, five people have been injured. At least one person is under the rubble. The rescue operation is continuing," he wrote.

Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko showed a video of the rescue operation in Cherkasy. Employees of the Emergencies Ministry are searching for victims who may still be under the rubble.

According to the minister, a hotel building was damaged by the missile strike in Cherkasy, which caused a fire, as well as the burning of commercial pavilions in the market.

Seven people were injured and ten evacuated as a result of the criminal actions of the Russian military. One person has been rescued from under the rubble. All services are on the scene. Taburets said there could be as many as 23 people in the hotel building in Cherkasy. He said the building's manager was still in hospital and there could be more people under the rubble.

One person is in a serious condition. He suffered severe injuries to his spine and head. The other victims, according to medical experts, have minor injuries, the OVA head added.
