NYT: First Batch Of Abrams Tanks Already In Ukraine

They will bolster the AFU's counteroffensive.

The first batch of US-made Abrams tanks was delivered to Ukraine on Saturday 23 September. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the New York Times.

The publication notes that the first tanks arrived in Ukraine several months ahead of initial estimates and in time to be used in the AFU's counter-offensive.

The publication's sources said that the rest of the Abrams will be delivered in the coming months, noting that the tanks delivered to Ukraine were the first of 31 that President Joe Biden's administration promised to send.

It is currently unknown how many tanks have been delivered.
