Ukrainian Forces Started Operation To Capture Tokmak

The Ukrainian army destroyed the base of the occupiers in the city, and they are moving in several directions.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine accelerate the counteroffensive: new territories have been liberated on the southern front. Ukrainian troops are moving south of Rabotyne indicating the beginning of an operation to liberate Tokmak from the Russians.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces broke through Russian defences and were making all possible to liberate Robotyne the whole week long. The village could become the key to penetrating the second defence line, espreso.tv reports.

Ukrainian military building up their forces in the village and demining the area. Some Ukrainian units are making their way to the top of 166 m, which dominates this sector of the front.

It is this peak that is not only an integral part of the second line of the main defence of the Russians in the Tokmak area but also allows fire control of significant territory in the southwestern direction, including the city of Tokmak.

The battles for this peak, during which the Russians carry out constant counterattacks, have been going on for several days.

Another direction of advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is the road from Rabotyne to Novoprokopivka, there is the second defence line of the enemy behind.

The distance between the villages is less than 2km. If the Armed Forces of Ukraine succeed, the entire front line west of Rabotyne will come under attack, namely the occupying garrisons in Nesterianka and Kopani. These troops will be partially encircled and cut off from the supplies.

Also, there are 11 kilometres of free space behind these villages. There are no settlements and reinforced defence lines, which is very promising for an attack on Tokmak.

Moving to Tokmak through the defence line between the villages of Chistopіllia and Solodka Balka looks more promising than through a much more fortified area southeast of Rabotyne, where it’s necessary to cross the problematic fortified areas in Verbove and Ocheretuvate.

The subsequent actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after finalizing their tasks in Rabotyne will demonstrate which direction will be chosen as a priority.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine started covering the occupying troops in Tokmak with heavy fire: the Ukrainian military organized a “hot” Saturday for the Russian army in the city.

A Russian munition depot came under attack. The monitoring publics of the South of Ukraine write about the “hits”, dialog.ua reports.

There was a strike on the afternoon of September 2. After the hit, the secondary detonation of the shells began.

“There are explosions in the temporarily occupied Tokmak. Ammunition depot of the enemy was targeted,” eyewitnesses report.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are close to gaining full fire control over the settlement.

Ukrainian military expert Oleksandr Kushnar also writes about this.

“Soon the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take Verbove and expand the corridor, and then they will drive the enemy out of Novoprokopivka, after which the advance will become even faster... A few kilometres - and the bandits will feel badly in Tokmak because Ukrainian high-precision 155-mm artillery will be able to attack any location off in this logical hub,” writes the military observer.
