Kolomoysky Refuses Bail

The oligarch was taken to the SSU building.

Oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky refused to bail in the amount of UAH 509 million, Radio Liberty reports.

His lawyers will file an appeal against the decision of the Shevchenkovskiy District Court of Kyiv.

“We are going to file an appeal. We are waiting for the full text of the court decision and we will not pay bail. We are heading to Askoldov Lane,” the lawyers said.

According to them, Ihor Kolomoyskyi was taken to the SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) building on Askoldov Lane.

On September 2, law enforcement officers filed charges against Mr Kolomoysky - he is charged with fraud and money laundering. According to the investigation, during 2013-2020, Kolomoisky legalized more than UAH 500 million by transferring them abroad, simultaneously using the infrastructure controlled by banking institutions.

The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for the businessman in the form of detention for two months in Dnipro with the possibility of making a bail of more than UAH 500 million. Also, according to the court decision, he must hand over all documents and not communicate with witnesses. His lawyers have five days to appeal the decision.
