Ukraine Forces Knock Occupiers Out Of Vremivka Ledge: Russians Retreat To Mariupol

The Ukrainian army resumed the offensive in the Novodonetsk-Novomayorske sector.

Ukrainian forces resumed their offensive on the Novodonetsk-Novomayorske sector on the Vremivka ledge in the Donetsk region.

“After several days of artillery preparation, the enemy proceeded to offensive operations in the Novodonetsk-Novomayorske sector. They perform the most significant activity near the village of Novodonetske. They attempted to break through with the use of a large number of armoured vehicles,” the message by the Russian occupiers reads.

The invaders also complained that Ukrainian artillery preparation using cluster munitions had a "psychological impact" on the personnel and the Ukrainian troops neutralized the minefields on the outskirts of Novodonetske. The Russians also acknowledge that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have made progress in this direction.

Russia builds new defence lines near Mariupol

The Russian invaders are equipping defensive lines and building dugouts in the area of several villages near Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko, an adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, said on Telegram.

“The occupiers continue to build and equip fortifications in the area between the village of Nikolske and Rozivka. Now they are transporting timber - they are equipping dugouts,” he said.

In addition, according to the mayor's adviser, the occupiers are again moving weapons in civilian trucks disguising them as "trees".

“This is typical only for the Nikolske district so far,” Andryushchenko said.
