The Kremlin sees a huge threat from General Mikhail Teplinsky, the popular commander of the airborne forces. The Russian media resumed a campaign to discredit him.

According to one of the sources, the leadership of the Russian General Staff and the Ministry of Defense decided to get rid of Teplinsky gradually. To do this, they will first destroy his image and support from the army, especially in the Airborne Forces.

"After the ambiguous actions of the airborne commander during the Prigozhin riot and his confrontation with Shoigu and Gerasimov, General Teplinsky, let's say, was put on notice. They did not forget anything and did not forgive him, but it was impossible to remove Surovikin immediately, he was too popular in the troops," the source said.

In particular, a special group was created for this purpose from among the officers of the information confrontation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (IPb).

"They organized a network of channels and groups in social media, which creates and distributes information aimed at discrediting Teplinsky," the message reads.
