The court in Lida considered an administrative case against a local resident. He was accused of "unauthorised picketing" because of a sticker with a white-red-white flag on the front door of his flat. The ruling was issued on December 15.
"Took part in picketing by demonstratively placing a sticker with the image of the white-red-white flag on the front door in the corridor of the said flat for public display," the document reads.
That is, the sticker was placed on the door not from the outside, but inside the flat. As follows from the ruling, it was discovered by the police when they came to check the owner late at night - around 23 o'clock.
The thing is that the man had previously been convicted under a criminal article and is on the preventive register (most likely, he has served his sentence), so he is regularly visited by employees of the police department. It is not known what he has been tried for. Judging by the situation, it is possible that it was a "political" article. There are also "administrative offences" on him.
The ruling says about Lida resident that he has a higher education, but no job, he is married and raises three children, including a child with disability with the 4th (the most severe) degree of loss of health.
The court found Lida resident guilty of "picketing" under Article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences and imposed a large fine of 50 basic units, or 1850 rubles. In addition, his laptop was seized - if the man does not pay the fine, the device will be taken to pay off the debt.
