US Launches More Strikes Against Houthis In Yemen

24 hours after the first attack.

The United States launched an additional strike against Yemen's Houthi forces on Friday, January 12. This happened 24 hours after the first strike by the UK and US.

This was reported by Reuters and Sky News.

The latest strike, which was carried out by a US Navy ship, was aimed at a Houthi radar.

Radar infrastructure has been a key target in the US military effort to thwart Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.

The UK Maritime Trade Office (UKMTO) said it received a report of two small boats following the vessel for more than an hour.

According to the agency, no weapons were seen, but a “suspicious approach” occurred in an area 80 nautical miles southeast of Aden in Yemen.

The Houthi movement's Al-Masirah television channel reported that the United States and Britain carried out raids on the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

The renewed attack came just 24 hours after US and British planes, ships and submarines carried out dozens of airstrikes across the country overnight in retaliation for Iran-backed Houthi forces over months of attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.

Strikes against Houthis

On the night of January 12, the United States and Great Britain launched joint strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. Airplanes and ships were involved in the operation. The strikes targeted Houthi weapons storage centers and training bases. As a result of one of the strikes, a fire broke out, a video of which appeared online.
