Belarusian Schoolchildren Learn To Interrogate American Prisoners Of War

And to make sandwiches.

The Belarusian Ministry of Education has approved several school extracurricular activities: "Home Cooking", "Fashion School" and "Military Translation" in English. As part of the latter, high school students will be taught to interrogate prisoners of war and determine the differences between British and American soldiers by signs. The relevant resolution is published on the National Legal Portal.

The "Home Cooking" is designed for 5-9-grade schoolchildren, its program is designed for 175 hours (35 hours in each class, 1 hour per week). In theoretical and practical classes, schoolchildren will be taught how to make snacks, soups and main courses, desserts and drinks.

For example, 12 hours are devoted to teaching fifth-graders the art of making sandwiches and salads for breakfast, and ninth-graders will spend an hour learning how to mix festive cocktails (of course, not alcoholic, but, for example, milk and chocolate).

Thanks to these classes, it is assumed that children learn not only to read and understand recipes but also to choose the right products for dishes, cook them and serve them.

The "Fashion School" is designed for the 8th (9th) grade, the activity engages 35 hours (1 hour per week). Among other things, children will be told about ways to redesign and renovate clothes, will be taught to redesign old jeans and sew linen clothes "in the avant-garde style, combined with folk style."

Finally, the "Military Translation" in English is intended for grades 9th-10th grades. The program is designed for 69 academic hours (35 hours for tenth-graders and 34 hours for eleventh-graders). It will be taught also in Suvorov and cadet schools using slides, war films and other visual materials.
