Lukashenka summoned the general and called for vigilance "against the backdrop of the militaristic situation in neighbouring countries."

"Today's decision to protect the state border has its peculiarity in the fact that we have a special situation: in the south — the war, in the west — Poland, Lithuania, the Baltic states — and even worse. I emphasize: even worse. Relevant detachments are being trained there, the commanders have been identified," Lukashenka said.

He stressed that "the fighters of these detachments" are also known in Belarus.

Note that NATO this week is holding the largest exercise since the collapse of the USSR called the Steadfast Defender 2024. Perhaps, in connection with this event, the dictator arranged the meeting.
