28-Year-Old Army Dodger Detained At Minsk Airport

He lived in the USA for six years.

On April 19, 2016, the prosecutor’s office reported, the guy did not appear at the military registration and enlistment office to undergo a medical examination. Later, the young man left the country and lived in the USA, where he married a Belarusian citizen. They had a daughter there, writes Nasha Niva.

At the end of 2023, he was detained by security forces at the Minsk National Airport.

A criminal case was initiated against him under Part 1 of Article 435 (evasion of conscription for military service) of the Criminal Code of Belarus.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of community service, a fine, arrest, restriction of freedom for up to two years or imprisonment for the same period.

The Minsk resident was taken into custody.
