France Adds Two HIMARS Analogues To List Of Aid To Ukraine

Earlier, two samples of such weapons had already been transferred.

France has handed over to Ukraine four LRU MLRS, which are analogues of the US M270 and HIMARS, and not two, as previously thought. This was announced by the head of the "Artillery for Ukraine" coalition, General Jean-Michel Guilloton, in an interview with the press service of the French Defence Ministry.

"Artillery is part of the history of France. We can go back to the times of Louis XIV and the creation of the first artillery regiment in 1671. Moreover, today this regiment provides training for Ukrainian artillerymen.

France has the right to lead this coalition taking into account the artillery equipment handed over to Ukraine: about thirty Caesars, while we had only 75, four LRU multiple rocket launchers, TRF1 cannons and 120 millimetre mortars," the general said.

As is known, the French Defence Ministry reported only two LRU systems transferred to the AFU in the report on military assistance to Ukraine for 2022. Thus, it can be concluded that this was followed by another delivery, which was not announced in the media.
