Russia To Attack Kharkiv On January 15: Defense Intelligence Clarifies Situation

Ukrainian intelligence has recorded a certain accumulation of forces and means by the Russian aggressor occupiers in the Kupyansk direction.

However, it is impossible to say for sure that the offensive may occur specifically on January 15.

The Russians have already tried to carry out operations in this area, but to no avail.

This was stated by the representative of the Defense Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Andriy Chernyak.

On the air of the all-Ukrainian telethon “UA Razom”, he commented on the publication of the British The Telegraph, which said that the Russians were preparing an offensive in the Kupyansk district.

The representative of the Defense Intelligence did not rule out attempts by the invaders to intensify offensive actions.

“The Defense Intelligence records a certain accumulation of enemy forces and assets in the Kupyansk direction. This could potentially indicate that the occupiers intend to intensify offensive actions on this particular section of the front. At the same time, we cannot say that the Russians are preparing this offensive precisely for January 15,” Chernyak said.

At the same time, Andriy Chernyak also focused on the fact that the Russians had already tried to carry out operations of tactical and strategic significance near Kupyansk, but were not successful.

Reaction of the Kharkiv regional military administration

Head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleh Synehubov, during his briefing, said that no concentrations of invaders in different sectors of the front in the region have been recorded.

“We have not yet observed any concentrations (of troops), we have not recorded them. All border lines — the situation has not changed for us, but we monitor everything online, our military is taking all necessary measures to be prepared for any developments,” the official explained the situation.

However, according to him, the situation can change very quickly.

“There are no objective reasons to say that the enemy will carry out certain assault operations in this direction (in the North) in the near future. However, this situation can change every minute,” added the head of the regional military administration.

However, Oleh Synehubov also emphasized that the Russians have not abandoned their “plans” to occupy the territories of the Kharkiv region — in such a situation one should be prepared for new attacks and possible strikes at critical and energy infrastructure.
