ISW: AFU Drive Russians Into Trap

American analysts caught Russian propagandists lying.

Russian troops have recently advanced in Glushkovo district of Kursk region, and the AFU have advanced in their offensive in this territory of the Russian Federation. Also, Ukrainian soldiers cunningly lured a column of Russians into anti-tank traps they had built themselves, and struck at it outside Plekhovo.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said this in its report. Analysts exposed Russian propagandists lying that their forces allegedly recaptured some settlements of Kursk region.

It is noted that the Russian Armed Forces have advanced in the fields southeast of Veseloye (southwest of Glushkovo). The defence ministry of the aggressor country claimed that the Ukrainian troops allegedly unsuccessfully attacked the border near Novy Put in Glushkovo district, and propagandists came up with the idea that the same situation was near Veseloye and Medvezhye. Currently, units of the Russian 56th Airborne Regiment are trying to counter the AFU there.

According to an ISW summary, Ukrainian forces have recently advanced on the western edge of their bulge in Kursk region near Korenevo. Russian sources reported that their forces have also had to repel Ukrainian attacks near Lyubimovka, Olgovka, Kremianoye, Kamyshevka and Plekhovo.

And although Russian troops had advanced southeast of Sudzha near Plekhovo, they suffered losses there.

‘Forbes’ analysis of the geolocation footage showed that a mechanised column of the Russian Armed Forces - possibly consisting of elements of Russia's 15th Pyatnashka International Volunteer Brigade - got stuck in Russian anti-tank traps set up ahead of the Ukrainian invasion of Kursk region near Plekhovo, allowing Ukrainian forces to strike it outside the settlement,‘ the analysts stressed.

Russian sources also said their troops had ‘recaptured’ Obukhovka (southeast of Korenevo) and advanced 800 metres north of Uspenovka on the border. However, ISW noted that there was no visual evidence of this.
