Even retouching does not save the dictator.

Lukashenko is going in circles. The attempt to balance between Ukraine, the West and Russia has failed. The Kremlin did not buy mediation in peace talks with Kyiv and another sale of the refusal to normalize relations with the West. And they did not buy it not because they did not want to, but because the goods for sale turned out to be stale and smelly.

In several months of chaotic movements in the Ukrainian and Western directions, the situation almost got worse. Therefore, the Kremlin had absolutely nothing to offer. But hints about the health of Lukashenka himself and his inner circle had to be listened to.

All that remains is what caused the birth trauma in 2020 — chaotic going to the people. You need to convince yourself, and even more importantly — Moscow, that there is still popular support and a mandate. The electorate must save Lukashenka. More precisely, the majority. Only even within the regime itself there is an understanding that the majority this time is not overwhelming, but suppressed. And this is an extremely unreliable resource.

Moreover, the most popular topic of discussion is Lukashenka's health, or rather its lack thereof. A little more and it will be necessary to call in Hollywood CGI specialists, since banal retouching not only does not save, but regularly leads to even more deplorable results.

A visit to the Kremlin led to the understanding that if earlier there was a game for the survival of the regime, now the stake is the life of Lukashenka and his entire family, and time is running out. Either we need to abandon the unsystematic fuss and choose a direction of movement where there is a chance to simply save life, or the decision to go for a 7th term without internal and external support will be fatal.
