Mass Detentions At Belarusian Railways

Over corruption.

Another wave of detentions has occurred among the management of Belarusian Railways, writes the Community of Belarusian Railway Workers.

According to preliminary information received from sources, on October 11 and 12, 2024, the “law-enforcement” agencies of Belarus (GUBOPiK) detained a number of employees from the Belarusian Railways administration and the Transportation Management Center (TsUP).

The following names appear among those detained:

Vital Panyushenka — head of the transportation service (D);

Fiodar Shulenkou — deputy head of the service — head of the transportation management center of the transportation service (TsUP);

Aliaksandr Ivanou — first deputy head of the transportation management center of the transportation service, head of the operational and administrative department of the TsUP.

The arrests were carried out by employees of the first department of the first directorate (for the prevention of illegal actions in state authorities and administration) of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption at the location of the said persons at that time. The fact that the arrests were carried out by employees of the first department may indirectly indicate that this “operation” was carried out within the framework of the currently being developed “corruption case” of Pyotr Dulub, which we covered earlier. Many facts indicate that these personalities were simply “given in exchange” for “cooperation” and freedom of a “bigger fish”.

The preliminarily arrested persons are charged with crimes under Article 430 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus — bribery.
