Forbes: AFU Ambush 155th Brigade Of Russian Marines In Kursk Region Twice

The occupiers were revenged.

Ukrainian assault brigades have already organised at least two ambushes against occupiers from the Russian Armed Forces' 155th Marines Brigade in Kursk region.

Back on October 10, enemy troops launched a counter-offensive in Kursk region, capturing 9 lightly armed AFU drone operators near Zeleny Shlyakh.

Instead of fulfilling the requirements of the Geneva Convention, the enemy simply shot the unarmed AFU soldiers, Forbes writes.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Putin's army has shot at least 100 Ukrainian prisoners of war. The most such massacres have happened precisely in 2024.

Not surprisingly, Ukrainian brigades in Kursk region decided to devote themselves to revenge, pursuing and attacking the occupiers from the 155th Marine Brigade.

The 82nd and 95th brigades of the AFU have ambushed units of the Russian Armed Forces from the 155th Marines Brigade. It is the occupiers from this brigade that Ukrainian forces hate the most.

Back in August, occupants from this brigade beheaded four Ukrainian soldiers and put their heads on poles.

Since the beginning of October, the Russian Armed Forces have launched a counter-offensive in Kursk region in order to try to push the AFU as far back to the border as possible by the rainy season.

Blackbird Group analyst Emil Kastehelmi said that the AFU lost 1/3 of what they controlled in Kursk region back in early September. According to Kastehelmi, the area around Zelenyi Shlyakh is very convenient for the defending side.

However, the AFU did not have time to build defensive structures properly. At the same time, the main target for Russian drones has always been all engineering equipment in the area, so the enemy has concentrated its strike fist on this section of the front in order to cut into the AFU's defensive ranks.

Experts predict that it will be easier for the enemy army to advance after they cross the gap in the area of Zelenyi Shlyakh. However, the Ukrainian forces will also fight even more fiercely after the 155th Brigade was found guilty of more than one war crime.
