The pilot died.
Russian sources confirmed the death of the pilot of the Su-25 attack aircraft in early October near Bakhmut. The Telegram channel “Spy’s Dossier”, known for its closeness to the Russian special services, published a photo and information about the deceased pilot.
According to the report, the deceased pilot is Lieutenant Colonel Igor Evgenievich Gaivoronsky. He served in the 960th Attack Aviation Regiment (military unit 75387), based in Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Sources note that the Su-25 aircraft was shot down as a result of “friendly fire”, that is, presumably, by the Russian military. The incident occurred on October 2, 2023, near the settlement of Bakhmut.
There have been no official comments from the Russian Ministry of Defense; the occupiers remain silent about the deceased pilot and the circumstances of his death.
