According to him, Ukraine will be able to reverse the dynamics of the battles.
The work of the new NATO command in the German city of Wiesbaden will help Ukraine achieve “real difference” on the battlefield and ensure security for the alliance countries. This was stated by the alliance's Secretary General Mark Rutte as he was visiting the command headquarters.
“In talking with the troops, Mr. Rutte noted how important their work was, preparing the way for 700 personnel who will be stationed in Wiesbaden and at logistical nodes on the Eastern flank of the Alliance. He said that the new command will make a real difference for Ukraine on the battlefield and “for our own security”, the NATO press-service wrote.
The Alliance must ensure that Russia does not achieve its goals, while Ukraine does, Rutte stressed. He was sceptical about concerns that Wiesbaden would become a military target in connection with the deployment of NATO's Ukrainian headquarters: “I stopped trying to understand what Putin was thinking many years ago.”
