‘Poland Considers It To Be Number One Option Regarding Belarus’

And Lukashenka understands it.

Michał Kamińśki, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Senate, calls for not forgetting about Belarus. The Polish politician spoke about this in an interview with “Ordinary Morning”:

— Lukashenka clearly understands that Poland is one of those countries that almost constantly provides opportunities for the Belarusian opposition, and from the very beginning of his presidency has been a place where Lukashenka’s opponents have fled.

For Poland, it is clear that the victory of democracy in Belarus is the number one option, and this is an option that no one fears.

Of course, not only Poles, but also many Belarusians are discussing the option in which Lukashenka loses power in favor of the Kremlin’s man. But this is one of the options that we consider as an opportunity — not one that we have influence over, but one that must be taken into account by any responsible politician.

What Poland lacks is an understanding of the scale of the Belarusian dictatorship. As well as an understanding of what it means to be an oppositionist in Belarus today.

Some people think that it is like Poland in the 80s. But this, of course, is incomparable with the situation in today's Belarus, where they put you in jail for a like.

Living in the West, it is difficult to think that someone can convict you for your personal activity on social media. But today this is happening (in Belarus — edit.)

Young people, instead of continuing their studies or starting a new life, are held in prison or hiding abroad. And to ensure that Poles understand the scale of what is happening, we need to work both at the level of politicians and at the level of ordinary citizens.

My business is your business. I am engaged in the struggle for the freedom of Belarus, for the freedom of our region, our neighbors, including the freedom of the Belarusian people, who are very close to my heart, and who are considered the highest priority for me in terms of support.

Today, many forget about Belarus. It must be remembered that there is this brilliant nation and country that is suffering under a terrible dictatorship today.
