'Honorary Homselmash Worker' Is On Trial In Homel

He faces ten years in prison.

Another corruption case is being considered in Homel. It can be assumed from the available information that the accused worked as a manager at the Homselmash company.

A criminal case against Anatol Mitrakhovich is being considered in the Central District Court of Homel. The man is accused under Article 430, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus "bribery". The maximum punishment that the accused faces is 10 years in prison.

Anatol Mitrakhovich is the full namesake of the former Chief Technologist of the Self-Propelled Combine Plant of JSC Homselmash. The combinations of very rare patronymics and surnames indicate that it was the former manager of the plant who was brought to trial.

A year ago, Anatol Mitrakhovich was honorably retired. The Homselmash veteran worked at the plant for 52 years. He was awarded the title of "Honorary Gomselmash worker". Mitrakhovich became the chief technologist of the Self-Propelled Combine Plant back in 1989. For the last three years, he held the position of leading specialist in the chief technologist's office.

A trial for bribery a year after retirement may indicate that investigators are studied the former manager's activities in previous years.
