Leopard From Occupied Ukrainian Territories Taken To Minsk Zoo

The animal came to Belarus from a Russian hospice.

A leopard named Porsche has settled in the Minsk Zoo. He was recently brought from a Russian hospice, where he came from the “war zone”.

„The young leopard was rescued from the war zone — that's how he came to the Tiger House. But a hospice is a place where animals with health problems are kept, which require special care. Porsche is an absolutely healthy baby — his tests are perfect. That's why they started looking for a new home for him, which became our zoo,” the zoo told the Minsk-Novosti agency.

The zoo reported that Porsche had adapted to the new conditions. The day after his arrival, he „was lying in the enclosure, looking around, and showed no obvious signs of discontent”.

As previously reported by the Tiger House hospice, the leopard was taken from the city of Svatove in the Luhansk region in October last year. The city has been under Russian occupation since March 2022.
