Russians Realise Two Simple Things

Russians Realise Two Simple Things

And they were starting with ‘you can't negotiate with terrorists’.

There was an interesting news story last week about Russia providing Yemeni Houthi terrorist groups with satellite data to target missiles and attack drones at ships in the Red Sea.

This is reported by The Wall Street Journal with reference to three sources at once. As noted, in this way the Russian Federation was helping the pro-Iranian group to attack ‘the main artery of world trade’, as well as to increase the destabilisation of the region.

Another news.

In Poland, saboteurs suspected of links with the Russian Federation have been detained.

According to Polish law enforcers, a group linked to Russian intelligence services was sending parcels with explosives across Europe, to the UK, as well as testing the delivery of such cargoes to the US and Canada.

‘The main targets were civilian objects, in particular warehouses and large shops, and the main method was arson. Persons who carried out the tasks of the Russian special services were engaged in particular in distributing in Europe courier parcels with camouflaged incendiary substances, which set fire to the clockwork during transportation,’ the Polish prosecutor's office said.

Thus, Russia, by all accounts, is carrying out activities on a global scale that cannot be called anything else but sponsorship of terrorism.

The active use of openly terrorist methods by the Russians began in Ukraine. During the war they have used absolutely everything a terrorist can do.

Indiscriminate shelling of peaceful cities, deliberate destruction of medical facilities (including the largest children's hospital). Exemplary killings on camera. Attacking civilian vessels for the purpose of intimidation. Destroying energy and any other infrastructure in order to psychologically pressure civilians. Everyone has seen it and knows it. One should not think that the Russians, using missiles and bombs as a means of terrorism, avoid ‘classical’ terrorism as well. Recently, the SSU and the National Police, following a special operation, detained two Russian agents who were supposed to make an improvised explosive device and detonate it in one of the crowded places in the Ukrainian capital. The goal is a large number of civilian casualties. And there are many such examples, it's just that they are ‘lost’ against the background of daily Shahed and rocket-bomb terror.

Yet when Ukraine rightly demanded that the United States recognise Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, it only received a bunch of counterarguments in response: ‘it's dangerous, RF is a nuclear power’, ‘it won't be effective’, ‘it might damage the unity of the West’, ‘it's not the right time’ and so on.

Apparently, the U.S. and its allies have long believed that they could limit the zone of Russian terrorism only to Ukraine. But it turned out, of course, not to be the case.

Russian global terrorism is only growing. The Russians have realised two simple things: it is unpunished and it is effective.

Russian state terrorism is a very powerful political argument. For example, it was actively used in the elections in Georgia, where the ruling pro-Russian party actively used images of destroyed Ukrainian cities in its political advertising. They were saying, vote for us if you don't want that. And it works, because terrorism, in general, is a very effective thing. Fear is a very powerful argument, and terrorists know that.

That's why they seem to be fighting terrorism. At least, the West has been declaring a war against terrorism for a very long time, even landing expeditionary troops in remote Afghanistan and Iraq. But, as it turned out, there is one terrorism that should remain completely unpunished - it is the most brazen, shameless and terrible terrorism. Russian state terrorism.

By the way, it is working effectively against the West as well. Articles that have recently appeared in the media there argue against allowing Ukraine to launch long-range strikes on Russian territory. They claim that the Russians could respond by intensifying terrorism in Europe and America. In other words, terrorism does work. And they were starting with ‘it is not possible to negotiate with terrorists’.
